Silvercrest Equine
Silvercrest Equine is a family owned farm in Northern Indiana, owned by Eli and Hannah Stutzman. Eli grew up on a small family operation where their home raised horses were a very real aspect of their daily life. He had plenty of chores to do but there was always time to head back to the woods on horseback where the possibilities were only limited to his imagination. He soon discovered horses were the only thing he wanted to do, which lead to a successful career in doing farrier work where he passed his Certified Journeyman Exams at the age of 19. Through his years as a full time farrier, he was able to work for a lot of successful trainers across various disciplines, which led to a deeper understanding of horses and the industry.
In recent years Eli and Hannah moved their focus to operating their training barn and supplying the demand for well-rounded, good-minded horses. Both of them have spent a lot of time studying horses behavior and working horses at liberty to gain a deeper understanding for these amazing animals. The majority of their work is starting young horses for clients and finishing a few out for themselves to market and find great homes for. Dressage and other sporthorses make up the majority of their business along with breeding and raising multiple Gypsy Vanners, as they have a specific weakness for this amazing breed. They also have a few select mares along with a quality Stallion . They enjoy keeping their young stock to finish out in training but rarely get the chance. A strong emphasis is placed on producing solid horses with great usability where they can be enjoyed outside of the ring as well as in the ring .
Their two children, Travis and Sadie, take great interest in the business and do their part in helping to make sure the horses are child friendly and desensitized. Silvercrest is excited for the opportunity to share with you some of the amazing horses they have in their program and to help all clients with their individual needs.
